Orthotics

Because perfect feet are very rare, almost anyone can benefit from orthotics. Orthotics are devices that are inserted into shoes that are designed to treat or adjust various biomechanical foot disorders. They can prevent and alleviate many of the common foot complications that cause discomfort in otherwise healthy people.

We make custom foot orthotics based on the individual person's needs. Custom orthotics are the most effective type of orthotics. When patients do not want custom orthotics, we can help them select over-the-counter orthotics.

Custom Foot Orthotics

When custom foot orthotics are indicated, Dr. Peng can make orthotics especially for sport shoes, fashion shoes, geriatric/acommodative shoes, children's shoes, and other custom needs. Most insurances will cover custom orthotics and we will verify your insurance to see if it does or not.

Dr. Peng uses Prolab Orthotics for orthotics supplies. Prolab is an accredited prescription foot orthotic laboratory. Below are links to details about some custom orthotic options:

The Richie Brace is a custom ankle brace which was developed by a podiatrist, Dr. Douglas Richie. This device is used to treat chronic conditions and complex deformities of the foot and ankle. It incorporates a custom orthotic matched up with a dynamic brace to help control and restrict motion in all three (frontal, sagittal, transverse) planes.
